A lot of people have been working from home and it is possible that they have considered using a 2-in-1 or a tablet for getting things done. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 is the brand’s take on the tablet as a laptop. It features flagship-level hardware, comes with a terrific S Pen stylus, and can connect to 5G. It’s a well-built Android tablet.

Design and Display

The Galaxy Tab S7 looks like a slightly larger version of the Tab S6. The front has an 11-inch display, while the back and chassis are made of aluminium. The Wi-Fi and LTE models are available in black, bronze, or silver, while the 5G model is only available on black.

It measures about 10.0 x 6.5 x 0.3 inches (HWD) and weighs a little over a pound, the Tab S7 is light enough to use comfortably for hours. On the top, there is a SIM slot, a hybrid power button and fingerprint sensor, and volume rockers.

The bottom of the tablet has a pogo pin connector and magnetic divots to keep a keyboard accessory in place. A pair of speakers sit on both sides of the tablet, and there is a USB-C charging port on the right.

Sound quality is really good. The quad speakers feature Dolby Atmos and AKG tuning and have a maximum volume of 92dB. They deliver defined mids and even a bit of bass, for a solid media streaming experience.

Hardware

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor. There are three RAM/storage configurations, including 6GB RAM/128GB storage, 8GB RAM/256GB storage, 8GB RAM/512GB storage. All three support up to an additional 1TB of external storage with a microSD card.

The tablet’s 8,000mAh battery can last through the day. It supports 45W fast charging with an external adapter, and a 15W charging adapter is included in the box.

Cameras

The Tab S7 has a 13MP primary lens and a 5MP ultra-wide sensor on the back, while the front-facing camera comes in at 8MP.

In good light, the Tab S7’s rear cameras can take solid photos, making them good for document scans and other quick shots. The front-facing camera is good for video calls.

Connectivity

The tablet is available in Wi-Fi, LTE, and 5G variants.

S Pen and Accessories

Samsung included a small but mighty S Pen. A button on the stylus lets the user use it to perform gestures that control specific actions on the tablet. If using the Galaxy Tab S7 as a laptop, it is best to use the Samsung Book Cover Keyboard.

Software

The Galaxy Tab S7 ships with Android 10 and Samsung’s One UI 2.5, which mostly adds meaningful features to the Android experience.
